This past Labor Day got me thinking about all the RV Labor costs out there. Did you know that some of the labor costs associated with warranty and service work is NOT covered by the manufacturer? Watch the video below to learn more.
Sometimes it makes sense to buy an extended warranty, but you must ask yourself why you really need one. The older the RV, the more expensive the warranty. (Well, duh right?). But keep this in mind if you are financing your RV. What is "only a little more added to your monthly payment" can translate into much, much more when you finally pay off your RV home on wheels. Be sure to check out forums and FB RV Group pages for information from legitimate buyers who can give you the real scoop.
So here's the skinny- be prepared for labor costs that are higher than what you have paid in the past, especially if you're comparing hourly labor rates to those at an Auto Service Center. New RV inventory is currently low and production has been slowed by supply chain interruptions due to Covid. Know this in advance so you have some personal "RV Insurance" in a savings account for the rainy day when you may need to fork out some cash for your RV service...and possibly warranty bills.
